Minor Characters
In
any novel there are characters who are either on the pages only briefly, who
are peripheral to the plot. Sometimes, however, a character who is meant to be
peripheral takes on more importance as the story unfolds. Such was the case
with Alfonso Conti, a Mafia Don in Naples, Italy. Originally I invented him as
only the older brother of Mark Conti. But as the plot thickened I came to enjoy
Don Alfonso too much to leave him in the dark.
Don Alfonso Conti
He has been a friend to the de Leone family for many years and has helped them on more than one occasion. When Adamo finds himself in deep water, it is to Don Alfonso he turns to. And it is Don Alfonso who gives him the connections he needs to begin to unravel the plot that now threatens his and Eve’s lives.
